HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR ACTIVEWEAR

5 KEY POINTS. HOW TO KEEP YOUR ACTIVEWEAR FRESH & NEW

Ok, it’s fair to say most ladies these days own a large amount of active wear. It’s become a wardrobe must have!  But are you looking after the activewear properly? Luckily, we don’t suggest your precious items need to be hand washed (I can hear the cheers already) or dry cleaned. However, I have composed our 5 main tips for loving your items a little better. I must add a disclaimer* this is general advise, from a lady who not only runs an activewear brand but wears the gear 6 out of 7 days a week. I’m a pro ;) However, if you don’t buy your activewear from us read your care instructions first.

Lets begin….

WASH AFTER EVERY WASH

Ok, this might be an obvious one. You’ve just attended a really intense workout (you even broke a sweat), wash immediately after. Bacteria can leave a lingering smell plus the material can deteriorate if left in the wash basket for too long.

BE GENTLE

Use a delicate wash cycle & keep the temp low. We suggest a 30c wash. This will help retain colour. Even better if you can pop the items into a laundry bag.

DO NOT TUMBLE DRY

If I could pick my main point from the listed 5, this would be it. Always hang to dry. This will help to retain the quality of the fabric & the elasticity of the items. You’ll find due to the type of fabric most active wear brand use (not all) they will dry pretty quickly on the line.

KEEP COLOURS SEPARATE

Keep similar colours together in the wash. I’m sure you’ve heard this before but washing your bright whites with colours is a considered a washing sin!!! Keep you fluffys out as well. This will avoid lint transfer.

AVOID FABRIC SOFTENERS & BLEACH

Blench & fabric softener will also damage your items. As much as that dreaded dryer!!! They will mess with the technical fabrics used on most active wear.

Hopefully the above helps. As mentioned before, in additional to our stated points always read your brands care label before washing.
